Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k Pro Review

With the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, Blackmagic Design builds on its prior success with the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K by introducing an even more feature-rich, portable Super35 camera to its cine-style line.

The 6K Pro adds a number of significant new features, such as a 5K sensor, along with all the recording features, sensor, dynamic range, buttons, and ports of its predecessor. “With a Pro EVF option, built-in clear/2/4/6-stop ND filters, dual mini-XLR inputs, a precise timecode clock, an NP-F570 L-series battery slot, and updated Gen 5 color science, the tilting HDR capacitive touchscreen LCD has 1500 cd/m2 brightness.

The 6K Pro has a similar physical factor to the 6L but captures video at the same resolutions of up to 50 frames per second (6144 x 3456), and it keeps the useful active Canon EF mount, allowing users to use the wide variety of EF/EF-S mount lenses that are readily accessible. When utilizing compatible lenses, the EF mount provides iris, autofocus, and zoom using the electrical connection.
