Canon Teases us again with a 8K cine camera to be released in 2021

We may only be a few days into 2021, but it seems like Canon is already planning to unleash a brand-new camera, and not just any camera. An fascinating promotional video for an 8K Canon cinema camera has been released by Canon Japan, featuring spectacular footage (presumably from the new cinema camera) and interviews with industry professionals.

Although there is no English translation in the video, it is still worth watching to take a look at the body of the new Canon cine camera. In order to see what you think, take a look at the video below.

Some days earlier, Canon made a publicity presentation at Inter BEE 2020 Online, according to Canon Reports. Apparently, this presentation revolved primarily around what Canon plans for its 8K cameras.

“As a leading company in imaging technology, Canon is working to develop 8K solutions in anticipation of further advances in image expression. A compact, lightweight 8K camera that can be used in a variety of shooting styles. EF Cinema lenses boast an extensive line-up of wide-angle and telephoto lenses. 8K display with high brightness, high contrast, and high color gamut. The blending of four real 4K projectors enables a large screen projection of real 8K images. From input to output, the Canon 8K solution provides an unparalleled viewing experience.”

Canon Rumors reports that a modular 8K cinema camera and an 8K conversion box were shown by Canon, which YMCinema posits is for 8K production, as the camera would apparently internally record 8K.
