Super35 CMOS Sensor from Canon

The Canon CMOS sensor, which is based on the Super35 motion picture film standard, has an active image size of 24.4 x 13.5mm. It supports Full HD (1080p), Ultra HD (3840 x 2160), and Cine 4K with a resolution of 4096 x 2160. (1920 x 1080).

dual-pixel CMOS autofocus

uses Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology to offer continuous AF (Autofocus) features for all autofocus lenses. Thanks to a new AF Lock setting, you can now modify the image framing while maintaining the correct focus. Users who frequently work with smaller crews, photograph moving objects or prefer smoother, more natural-looking autofocus will find this option excellent.

The CMOS sensor used in dual-pixel CMOS AF technology has an array of pixels with two independent photodiodes in each pixel. Phase-difference autofocus helps to prevent blurry shots and smooth focus transitions even when the talent or camera is moving by continuously comparing their outputs while in AF mode. With some Canon EF lenses, notably the more recent STM lenses, which enable even smoother and quieter performance, the new function prioritizes keeping sharp focus while delivering a natural, smooth autofocus movement.

ISO range, dynamic range

The dynamic range of the C200B is about 13 stops, and its ISO sensitivity ranges from 160 to 25,600. Additionally, an increased ISO range of 100 to 102,400 is available. Wide DR Gamma, Canon Log, and Canon Log 3 are supported.

Canon DIGIC DV 6 Image Processor in Dual

The camera has two Dual DIGIC DV 6 processors to conduct internal data processing.

No EVF

Even though external third-party EVFs are readily accessible, the EOS C200B does not come with an EVF, and you cannot afterward add a Canon EVF to the camera body.

Detailed Audio Controls

Two XLR audio inputs with +48V phantom power are physically incorporated into the C200B, and the camera also includes a 3.5mm microphone terminal. For high-fidelity sound, audio is recorded uncompressed in 16-bit PCM format at 48 kHz. Gain control options include automatic and manual for the mic terminal, XLR inputs, and both.

Camera RAW Light for Canon

The camera’s lone CFast card slot can be used with this codec to record raw data internally to a CFast 2.0 card. DCI 4K footage can be recorded in Canon’s Cinema RAW Light format via the CFast card slot.
