Other predictions are circulated on the web about the Sony A7R V specifications. It was written six months ago by Senior, a member of Dpreview. For some reason, these Sony A7R V specifications circulated did not seem to us to be very reliable. Now let’s explore the reasons for this briefly.
The Sony A7R series is a high-resolution mirrorless camera platform designed for photographers who care about information, not for video shooters. For this cause, we assume that either the 61.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor on the A7R IV or the 102MP resolution Sony IMX555CQR sensor we have listed in various articles would be the Sony A7R V sensor.
If we take into account that the Sony A7R V sensor will be high resolution or at least preserve the existing 61.2MP resolution, so we can see that it will be difficult to determine functionality such as 8K Full Sensor Read Out, RAW Video Output, or 4K 120. And in mark five of the Sony A7R, I don’t think Sony would lower the sensor resolution. Here are the new Sony A7R V specification forecasts anyway:
Sony A7R V Specifications
- 61MP Full-Frame Exmor Sensor
- BIONZ XR image processor
- DCI / UHD 4K 60p/30p Video
- 8K at 30fps
- 4K 120FPS and Full HD 240 FPS by using pixel binning algo and slight crop to save up from overheating
- Up to 6 Stop of IBIS
- Dual CFExpress A
- Full-Size HDMI like A7S III
The Sony A7R V full-frame E-mount camera is a bit early to write about. We can expect that the announcement of the Sony A7R V will be postponed to 2022 or to the end of 2021 at most. The new image sensor and video capture at 6K were speculated to feature both Sony A7R V and A9R cameras.
On the other side, Sony will protect the company and put the Sony A7R V announcement early due to the effect of Canon EOS R5 in the camera market.
