Hasselblad 907X Review

The Hasselblad 907X is a medium format camera system that is both distinctively modular and combines design aspects from the company’s earlier film cameras with the cutting-edge image capabilities of its more recent digital offerings. The CFV II digital back and the 907X camera body, which are matched and function together as a separate and adaptable camera system, make up the platform known as the 907X.

The Hasselblad 907X holds the distinction of being the thinnest and lightest medium format camera that the company has ever produced. It is little more than an inch thick and weighs only seven ounces. Although it has a design that is reminiscent of the well-known 500-series V-system cameras, this straightforward camera body’s primary function is to act as an interface between the V interface of the CFV II digital back and the X-mount, allowing it to work with XCD lenses as well as lenses adapted from other mounts. It also has a design that is reminiscent of the 500-series V-system cameras.

Hasselblad 907X Body

The 907X is Hasselblad’s petite medium-format camera body. It acts as the discreet link between the V-system interface CFV II digital back and the range of X-system mirrorless lenses. It is distinguished by its highly slim and lightweight design.

As a result of the inclusion of an X-system lens mount, it is now possible to use the CFV II in conjunction with XCD lenses that support autofocus and leaf shutters, as well as HC, HCD, V, and XPan lenses, and other third-party lenses using adapters that are sold separately. When opposed to the V system, employing the 907X gives more access to wide-angle lens alternatives. This is the case when XCD lenses are utilized.

Hasselblad 907X Sensor

The CFV II can capture an extensive dynamic range of up to 14 stops and rich 16-bit color depth thanks to its big 50MP CMOS sensor, which measures 43.8 x 32.9mm. The sensor is housed in a body that is 43.8 x 32.9mm.

Even in areas with a lot of shadows and brightness, tonal transitions and skin tones exhibit incredible depth, complexity, and clarity when paired with the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution. This results in incredibly lifelike image quality. A sensitivity range of ISO 100-25600 is provided, and still, images may be recorded in either the Hasselblad 3FR raw file format or as JPEGs. These features make the camera suitable for use in various lighting settings.

Hasselblad 907X Back Design

This digital back features a V-system mounting interface, which enables it to be used in conjunction with the 907X camera body that is included in the package, as well as with virtually any Hasselblad V system film camera manufactured between 1957 and the present, as well as with technical and view cameras that feature a V-system mounting interface.

An integrated touchscreen allows for simple control, menu navigation, and playback on a tilting LCD measuring 3.2 inches and displaying 2.4 million dots. The screen also supports autofocus point drag and drop placement and autofocus point size adjustments using pinch/spread finger movement. The new screen also has a rapid refresh rate of 60 frames per second, enabling more fluid playing. In addition, a top-down viewing position is encouraged by the sloping form of the screen, which is analogous to using an optical finder at waist level.
