In my opinion, if you are stuck choosing between the two zooms, the 14-35mm f/4 is the better choice, unless you really want that extra stop of aperture for things like astrophotography. Not only is it significantly smaller and more inexpensive, but the difference between 14mm and 15mm is not minor, and if you are a landscape or architectural photographer, you are sure to appreciate the extra reach at the wide end of the lens.
